Depulso is a spell in Hogwarts Legacy that propels enemies away from the wizard or witch who cast it. It is an incredibly useful spell that can be used to get enemies away from you or push objects away to solve puzzles.
Just like many other spells in Hogwarts Legacy, you will need to complete a Professor's assignment before you can use Depulso. Here's everything you need to know to pick up this essential spell.
Start Professor Sharp's Assignment 1
In order to get the Depulso spell, you will need to begin Professor Sharp's Assignment 1. To unlock this assignment, you will first need to complete the quest, Jackdaw's Rest. You can then check your Quests page, and you'll notice Professor Sharp's Assignment 1 on the list. You will have to obtain three different potions for this quest:
- Focus Potion
- Maxima Potion
- Edurus Potion
Acquire & Use A Focus Potion
The first thing you will want to do for Professor Sharp is acquire and use a Focus Potion. There are two ways that you can get one, either by crafting it yourself or buying it from J. Pippin's Potions in Hogsmeade.
To craft your own potion, make sure you have these ingredients first:

Can be grown in a large pot in the Room of Requirement, or purchased at The Magic Neep for 150 Galleon |

Can be obtained after defeating Dugbogs in the wild, or purchased at J. Pippin's Potions for 100 Galleon |
Then, either head to the Room of Requirement if you have unlocked it, or go to the Potions Classroom to begin brewing it. If you'd rather just purchase it, it costs 500 Galleon at J. Pippin's Potions.
Acquire Maxima & Edurus Potion, & Use Them Simultaneously
Next up, you'll need to get a Maxima and Edurus Potion and use them together at the same time. At this point, you will most likely not have access to brewing these two potions just yet, so you should pick them up at J. Pippin's Potions. Both Maxima and Edurus Potions cost 300 Galleon each.
If you have already obtained the recipes to brew Maxima and Edurus Potions, here are the ingredients needed.

Once you have the two potions, make sure to take them both one after the other.
Attend Potions Class During The Day & Return To Professor Sharp
When you've completed both tasks, return to your Potions Class with Professor Sharp anytime during the day. Upon completion of the class, approach Professor Sharp at his desk to begin learning Depulso.
As you are being taught the spell, follow the prompts on-screen by clicking the correct button while following the labeled path. You'll now be able to use Depulso, which you can practice on the flying books in front of you. This will propel them far away from you.
