Arresto Momentum is a spell in Hogwarts Legacy that allows the user to slow down time for the enemy or item it is used on. This is a great way to prevent enemies from getting hits on you and allow you time to retaliate.
As you'll definitely want to have this spell available to you in battle, we will show you how you can add it to your list. You will need to complete a few tasks for a Professor's Assignment in order to get it.
Start Madam Kogawa's Assignment 2
To work towards getting Arresto Momentum, you'll need to begin Madam Kogawa's Assignment 2. This quest will become available to you once you have completed Madam Kogawa's first assignment. For this quest, you will need to practice flying in two different locations:
- The Spires
- Keenbridge Tower
In each of these locations, you will need to pop 5 balloons in the sky to complete the tasks. It will not have a time limit, so you won't have to worry about hitting them all in a row.
Practice Flying Near The Spires
To reach The Spires, you'll want to go south from Hogwarts, and the location will be nearby to the West Hogwarts Valley Floo Flame. As you are heading into the area, you'll notice 5 different blue balloons floating above. To get all of these in one-go, we recommend starting from the western side with a small rocky overhang that you'll want to pass underneath. You'll also fly over a Merlin Trial in the area, so you can complete this as well before you leave.
While you are hitting the balloons, try your best to use the yellow bubbles to increase your speed. Even though it might be hard to hit all of them, its great practice for future broom races, so you can pick up as much speed as possible.
Practice Flying Near Keenbridge Tower
The next location you'll want to complete your practice flying is near Keenbridge Tower. To reach the area, you can use the Keenbridge Floo Flame and then start heading east towards the Bandit Camp Castle labeled on the map. The first balloon will be close to a treasure vault and Ancient Magic Hotspot outside Keenbridge, shown above.
All 5 balloons will be close together and in a row, so just keep following east on the map, and you'll be able to hit them all with ease. Remember to use the yellow bubbles as often as you can to boost your speed.
Return To Madam Kogawa
Once you have completed the two tasks, you'll want to return to Hogwarts and meet with Madam Kogawa. You can find her in her office, just up the staircase from the Flying Class Lawn in the Bell Tower Wing.
Approach her, and she will begin teaching you the spell for Arresto Momentum. Press the correct prompts on screen while tracing the design. When you've finished, you can practice on the floating books in the office. This will completely slow down their movements, which will be quite useful to you in dueling.
