If you ever watched the Harry Potter movies then it is likely you will be playing Hogwarts Legacy. It is an open-world wizarding game giving you free rein to explore Hogwarts to its full extent. With nowhere off limits, as long as you know the right spells, the exploration in this game is massive.

One of the main aspects of this game is going to be mastering your spells, there are a few to choose from in different categories. There are four Control spells, four Force spells, five Damage spells, seven Utility spells, three Transfiguration spells, and then the three Unforgivable Curses. The one we will focus on in this guide is the Damage spell Confringo.

Confringo Mastery

Confringo is a bolt of fire that can be cast from long-range and will carry on burning the enemy after impact for a short amount of time. This spell is a spell you can learn from Sebastian and is great to use early on for high-damage combat. Once you have unlocked Confringo the next step is to unlock its mastery in Talents. This can only be done once you have discovered the Map Chamber in the main story missions.

Once you have the Talents unlocked then get the Confringo Mastery, this will then make the spell more powerful. The upgrade you get for the Mastery is when you hit someone with Confringo, fiery bolts then shoot out and seek out other enemies. This allows you to do damage to multiple enemies making it powerful in situations where you find yourself surrounded.

Increasing Confringo's Damage

Because Confringo is a Damage-type spell there is not much you can do through Talents to increase its potency other than its own Mastery. However, you can increase the damage of Confringo through your clothing. When you get clothing there are four rarities that you can get Well-Appointed, Superb, Extraordinary, and Legendary. Each level of clothing will allow you to apply a Trait other than Well-Appointed, some items will already have Traits where others will not.

Each Trait will do something different and apply a buff to your character when wearing that clothing. In order to apply a Trait to an item of clothing you will need the Magic Loom in the Room Of Requirement. This is unlocked when completing the quest The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and The Loom for the House Elf Deek. You are also required to find Traits, this then unlocks them to be added to clothes. This can be done by either finding them already slotted in items or getting them through challenge completion. You will also require a beast resource depending on the level of the Trait.

  • Level One: Puffskein Fur
  • Level Two: Diricawl Feather
  • Level Three: Kneazle Fur

Now you have the Loom you are able to add Traits or change the Traits on your appearance. There are three levels for each Trait, level one can be applied to Superb and upwards, Level two is for Extraordinary and upwards, and then Level three will only slot into Legendary gear. As you go up the levels the Traits will be stronger, for Confringo the Trait you want is Destruction and this will increase the damage of Confringo making it more deadly.
