Though it may not be apparent at first, Deputy Headmistress Weasley is the first character to set players on their path to learning spells, concocting potions, and even collecting and preserving wild beasts from poachers. She also sends Professor Fig, the first character players will meet in the game, off to bring you to Hogwarts, which sets the events of the game in motion. Also, throughout the beginning of Hogwarts Legacy, players will attend classes and meet all their professors. After their first class, every professor tells the player that they'll be given extra assignments and challenges in an attempt to catch up with their magical peers.

This idea comes from Matilda Weasley, and she is the one who takes it upon herself to make sure every one in the faculty knows the player needs extra attention and lots of new spells along the way. Throughout the game, the Deputy Headmistress acts as players' high-level faculty member that wields their power and status to help support students and do the right thing. Professor Weasley's style is a stark difference to the tone of leadership presented by Headmaster Phineas Black. Overall, Matilda Weasley is one of the best professors and characters in the game due to her wisdom, motherly nature, and calming authority. The character is also expertly voiced by English actress Lesley Nicol.
