One of the earliest activities you’ll encounter is called Summoner’s Court. This activity is the Wizarding World’s version of shuffleboard, just in reverse.

What Is Summoner’s Court

Hogwarts Legacy Charms Class Professor Ronen

Summoner’s Court will first be introduced to you during your first day in the Charms class. This is the class where you’ll be introduced to Natty, a Gryffindor student. During this class, Professor Ronen will ask you to participate in a round of Summoner’s Court with Natty.

You will learn the spell Accio and must use it to roll your ball across the board. Each color on the board corresponds with a score. The goal is to get the highest score. This means you’ll want your ball to land in the blue area, which is 50 points. Each Summoner’s Court match is three turns. In those three turns, you have the opportunity to get up to 150 points if you land in the blue area each time.

How To Play Summoner’s Court

The most important thing to remember when playing this game is that you must manually release Accio. When first starting, this can be tricky to understand. If you hold Accio for too long, chances are your ball will fall off the board, leaving you with no points.

The best way to get the ball into the 50-point range is to stop using Accio around the end of the 20-point range (the yellow range). Letting go at this point gives you a good chance of getting 50 points without the ball rolling off.

Once you complete the initial round of Summoner’s Court, you’ll begin to experience different obstacles on the board. During Charms class, Professor Ronen will put boxes on the court to make the game more challenging. These boxes will stop the ball as soon as it touches one. An easy way to avoid the boxes is to pay attention to where you’re standing in relation to the ball. Using Accio at different angles can allow you to avoid the boxes and still get the ball where you want it.

Summoner’s Court Outside Of Class

After your first Charms class, you won’t be able to play Summoner’s Court for a few quests. You’ll need to reach level 5 and complete your first Potions class. Once you’ve done that, Leander Prewett will be waiting on the Flying Class Lawn. This is the same area that you played on during Charms class. He will tell you that he is part of a group of students who play Summoner’s Court and asks if you’re interested.

During this match, there will be obstacles on the board that bounce your ball back quite a bit. You want to be careful that you avoid them; otherwise, Leander will easily win. Don’t worry; you can redo this match as many times as needed.

After you beat Leander, you’ll slowly receive more challenges for Summoner’s Court matches. The more matches you complete, the more obstacles you’ll unlock and deal with on the board.

While Summoner’s Court can be difficult to get the hang of, as you hone your magical abilities, you’ll find it easier and easier to know the best way to complete these matches.
