Final Fantasy 16 is packed full of side content, much of which can be found on the Hunt Board. One of these Notorious Marks, a C-Rank Hunt called The Pack, is one of the earliest hunts Clive unlocks on his long trek through Valisthea.

Not every pup is as nice as Torval or as easy to find. The Pack can be found howling at the moon just south of the town of Tabor, nestled away in a location called The Gilded Path. Let's go!

Where To Find The Pack

It sounds a bit more grandiose than it really is. To get there, simply open the map, zoom in on the Dhalmekian Republic Region, and fast-travel to Tabor. The Gilded Path is a small cul-de-sac directly south of Tabor, but it's fairly easy to miss. Simply head south of the Obelisk after arriving, take a right at the first fork in the road, and keep an eye out for a path that will open up on your left.

How To Defeat The Pack

Final Fantasy 16 - The Pack Good Capture

As this is one of Clive's first Notorious Hunt encounters, The Pack isn't too difficult. The main problem is numbers. The enemy has Clive outnumbered 5-to-1, so the rule of thumb is not to get surrounded. Keep some distance, ideally, with the whole pack out in front of Clive. From here, it's best to unleash some AoE (area of effect) attacks like the Phoenix's Rising Flame.

From a defensive perspective, lots of dodging is the key to this fight. The enemies are fast and sometimes launch a rush attack together. The trick is to keep moving, racking up those Precision Dodges, and focus on one enemy at a time. Bringing down The Pack's numbers is the goal, so keep Clive's attention focused on one enemy while unleashing as much collateral damage to the rest of the enemies as possible.

Rewards For Beating The Pack

Completing the Hunt Bill will net Clive 5,800 Gil and 10 Renown, so it's well worth the detour for players looking to farm some quick cash. In addition to this, The Pack also drops the following loot on death:

  • 700 Experience
  • 50 Ability Points
  • 10 Magicked Ash
  • 20 Sharp Fangs
  • 50 Bloody Hide

The last three are, of course, crafting materials. While they are not as rare as the Stone Tongue or Comet Feather, you'll need them to craft a variety of recipes.
