Dark wizards are at work in Hogsmeade, and the notorious Theophilus Harlow has been threatening and blackmailing some of the townsfolk. Like in previous missions with Natsai, you’ll put yourself at risk, facing the worst of the Ashwinders to bring justice to their victims.

This time around, Natsai needs your help rescuing Mr. Bickles who recently disappeared. The police have been ineffective, and in order to find him, you’ll need to do your own investigation. This guide will walk you through how to gather the necessary information about Harlow and rescue Bickles.

Triple The Blackmail

Natsai and Hogsmeade

When you arrive in Hogsmeade, you’ll first meet up with Natsai just outside of town to learn more about your next move. She explains that some of Bickles’ friends have been blackmailed by Harlow and that the two of you need to speak with them to gather more information that could lead to finding Bickles.

Since Natsai’s mother is very opposed to her doing anything outside of her academic responsibilities, she suggests that you take to the streets while she asks around in Hog’s Head, a dingy bar where her mother would never venture.

Bickles’ Friends

Bickles' Friends and evidence

You’ll need to find and speak to three of Bickles’ friends who are in various parts of Hogsmeade. First, you’ll find Daisy on the third floor of the Three Broomsticks. After speaking with her, you learn she works at Gringots and has been threatened by Harlow in his attempt to get access to a vault. To pressure her, he kidnaps her husband and is holding him for ransom. She’ll give you the ransom letter, so you can use it as evidence once you complete your mission.

Next, you’ll need to speak with Otto, who can be found outside in the back of Gladrags. Make your way up the main road toward Hogsmeade Square, and you’ll find him behind the building. After speaking with Otto, you learn that he has been secretly engaged to Rosey Hill, a fact that Harlow learned by stealing a love letter. Harlow has been using this to blackmail Otto into giving him free clothes for Harlow’s lady friend.

Lastly, you’ll need to speak to Agabus who can be found near the Neep shop in the western part of Hogsmeade. He’ll tell you of the time when Harlow snuck into his house, cast Petrificus Totalus on him, and stole a beautiful book of poetry that was intended as a gift for his wife’s birthday. This act of violence is what kept Agabus from reporting Harlow’s actions to the authorities, and possibly getting an earlier conviction.

Returning To Natsai

Natsais wand and ashwinder hideout

After learning everything you can from Bickles’ friends, you make your way back to where you originally met up with Natsai so the two of you can share what you’ve learned. When you arrive at the meet-up spot, she is nowhere to be found. Next, head to the Hog’s Head to see if you can find her there.

When you arrive, head to the docks around the side of the pub, and you’ll find her wand resting on a box. Something clearly has happened to her, and she left the wand behind to signal that. Cast Revelio and follow her footsteps around and through Hog’s Head to find the entrance to an Ashwinder hideout in the attached cellar.

Gathering Evidence

Inside ashwinder hideout looking for evidence against harlow

When you head into the hideout, make sure you have the disillusionment spell equipped. Once inside the cellar, you’ll first need to open the secret door to the hideout. To do so, cast and hold Accio on both of the barrels on the left and right sides of the room. This will open the door hidden in the center barrel, which leads into the hideout.

Cast the disillusionment spell and sneak down the stairs to your right. In this next area, there are several Ashwinders, and it will be difficult to take them all down without being seen. Start by taking down the Ashwinder in the purple cloak. She is right where you first enter this area on the bottom floor and should be easy to cast Petrificus Totalus on. She is also a boss, so taking her out this way can save you some time. After taking her out, you can sneak around and take out the other enemies stealthily, or just start the battle and obliterate them.

Now you’ll have the option to find the stolen book of poems and the love letter, both of which can be used as evidence against Harlow. You can find the book of poems in a small blue box on top of a bar on the northwest side of the room. To find the letter, head to the southeastern side of the room and go up a short staircase. The letter is in a chest at the top of the stairs.

Rescuing Natsai And Bickles

5-5Rescuing Natsai and reporting to police

Now that you have gathered the necessary evidence, it’s time to rescue Natsai and Bickles. There are still three more enemies upstairs, so you’ll need to sneak past them or take them out first. On the eastern side of the main room, you can find a small shaft that will allow you to sneak around and take out the two grouped enemies without being seen. Cast Revelio to find the gate that leads to the shaft.

Take out the two enemies on the top floor, and then head down the hallway to confront the final enemy that is guarding the room where Natsai and Bickles are being held. Once inside the room, you’ll find Bickles in a cell to the right, and Natsai in a cell to the left. Start by casting Revelio to reveal an invisible chest on top of the table. Open it to find Bickles’ wand.

Talk to Bickles and give him his wand, so he can free himself from his cell. He’ll then free Natsai before thanking you for the rescue. After he takes off, you and Natsai will need to leave the hideout. If you avoided the enemies before, you’ll have to face them now. But if you took them out on your way through, then you can just run straight to the exit undisturbed. Outside, you’ll meet up with Officer Singer, give her the evidence, and complete the quest.
