While much of Hogwarts Legacy takes place within the castle of Hogwarts, there is a massive open world beyond its walls to explore, with many small settlements scattered about. These settlements contain buildings to explore and shops to buy and sell things from instead of traveling back to Hogsmeade. Within these small settlements are also people who need help, offering more side quests for you to complete.

For this request, players will be asked to retrieve a Niffler known as Rococo. This quest may seem like a simple fetch quest, but it will soon have you fighting an entire hideout's worth of enemies and solving many puzzles.

Beginning The Quest And Finding The Ruins

Player Casting Arresto Momentum On The Floor

To begin this quest, players will need to speak to Agness Coffey at Bainburgh, who will let you know her pet Niffler is missing. She will direct you to head toward some old ruins, now covered with Ashwinders, who you have to fight. For the most part, these will be regular enemies, but a little tougher as this quest is in the Southern Coast region. Within these enemies will be one named one, who is much stronger than the rest.

Focus your attacks on the named one first, using any spell to keep them from casting any of their own. Since you're fighting a named enemy with powerful spells, be wary of the lightning attack, which has the potential to one-shot your character. After defeating the enemies, return to the entrance and head down the stairs on the right side when facing the ruins. Running down the stairs will reveal the entrance to the main hideout.

Traversing The Hideout

Player Sneaking Up On Rococo

In the first room of the hideout, you will be presented with pressure plates and boxes. Each pressure plate and the box has an emblem on it, either of a flame or snowflake. Place each box on the corresponding pressure plate and case a fire spell on the firebox and Glacius on the ice box to open the door.

There will then be a larger room full of enemies with nothing too special about them. Clear the room of enemies and head to the upper balcony by taking the stairs along the left side of the room. There will also be galleons on the floor in a spaced-out path, showing which way the Niffler went; casting Revelio will highlight them for you. Continue across the balcony until you reach the floor that pulls you into the wall and teleports you back. Cast Arresto Momentum on the floor to keep it from moving fast as you run across it.

Following the path left from here will find another room full of enemies. After clearing out the enemies, you'll see another two pressure points that need boxes to activate. The first box is on the upper balcony on the left side that can be pulled down using Accio. The second box is in a secret room hidden under the balcony on the right side. The closest stone wall to the entrance that's under the balcony will have a different stone pattern than the rest of the room. Walking towards this wall will have it open up and reveal a hidden room with the second box within.

After you take both boxes back to the pressure plates, the one on the left will require the box with the feather, casting Levioso to activate it, with the one on the right being another firebox, with Incendio activating it. After placing down both boxes and activating them, a new room will open up with the Niffler within, capture it and take it back to Agness.

Returning the Niffler to Agness will present a few dialogue options to the player. Being a nice guy and simply returning the Niffler will complete the quest with the usual rewards. Players can also request additional payment and will receive it or will get to keep the Niffler. No option has a long-term consequence as long as they can get past stealing someone's pet Niffler.
