Ashwinders are a recurring enemy you'll be facing in Hogwarts Legacy. They are tied to the main story and will also be roaming the open world, acting as dark wizards for you to fight. Hogwarts Legacy also contains many settlements of people living in the land around Hogwarts, who also may be bumping heads with the Ashwinders.

This quest will have you facing many Ashwinders and an Infamous Foe, so be sure to bring your best spells for combat. Side quests such as this one are easy ways to gain more experience than just exploring while also getting other gear or galleon rewards. If you have already cleared Clagmar Castle and defeated Selwyn before accepting this quest, you can immediately complete it after accepting.

Beginning Sacking Selwyn

Clagmar Castle Location On Map

To begin this quest, head to the settlement Cragcroft, located in the far southeastern section of the map. While walking through the streets, you hear a woman named Madam Olivier in need of help. While she does admit that dealing with Ashwinders is dangerous for a student, she tells you the details and doesn't necessarily try to stop you from handling it yourself. Selwyn is an Infamous Foe and, along with a group of Ashwinders, has taken over Clagmar Castle.

Clagmar Castle And Selwyn

Player Fighting Against Enemies In Clagmar Castle

Clagmar castle is arguably the largest open-world bandit camp in the game, with Selwyn hiding at its center. This castle is composed of an outer area along with the inner section, both with many enemies within the ground and along the walls to fight. You are able to sneak through or fly into the camp to get to Selwyn, but this can quickly see you trying to fight the entire castle at once.

It's best to start along the outer wall, first fighting all the enemies within that section. Fighting along the wall will also give great use to Depulso, either pushing enemies outside the wall and making them take a long way back or pushing them far enough from high up to eliminate them immediately. A few of the wizards within will be stronger Executioners, which you should save your Ancient Magic and curses for, saving enough for Selwyn himself.

After reaching the castle's central area, you come face to face with Selwyn. Selwyn is much like the other dark wizard bosses. He is able to do incredible amounts of damage with his lightning attack and should be focused on during combat. Spam him with any Ancient Magic attacks or curses to make short work of him.

After taking out Selwyn, return to Madam Olivier to complete the quest. After informing her of your success, you're able to accept the usual rewards or ask for a little bit more for your troubles in taking out such a dangerous enemy and assuring Cragcroft's safety. Asking for more will pay more, and leave Madam Olivier very upset, but will have no further impacts on the game.
