The Edge Of Infinity

Final Fantasy 16 - Agni Map 1

Agni has nestled away in the Kingdom of Waloed, over on the southeastern corner of Valisthea. The closest Obelisk is going to be The Edge of Infinity. From there, just head north towards Halfcombe. There is only one fork in the road, so steer Clive to the right to keep heading northward, and you'll run right into this Notorious Mark.

How To Beat A Giant Lizard

By this point in the game, players should be relatively familiar with the giant lizard enemy type from previous fights. Agni's attacks are heavy and powerful but relatively slow and easy to dodge with a little practice on the timing. There are three key pieces of advice for winning this fight unscathed:

  1. Most of Agni's more crushing attacks come on slowly, so it can be tempting (and deadly) to dodge too soon. Allow a split second or two for Agni's moves to wind themselves up before dodging. Slow and steady.
  2. Collider is the first move to watch out for. Agni winds up like a giant spoke wheel, then rolls towards Clive three times in a row. It goes without saying, but dodge left or right. This move ends with a giant body slam, which is when you need to nail a precision dodge and unleash massive damage while Agni is down.
  3. The second move to keep an eye out for is Firewater, which is a straight beam of fire that can sweep toward Clive, depending on where he's positioned. The trick here is to dodge toward Agni, hugging the flanks and getting some shots in while the fire easily misses. Great opportunity for some damage, as Agni's motion is limited during the attack.

That's all it takes for a relatively easy win, as far as Final Fantasy 16 Hunts go. Collect your winnings and step carefully away from The Edge of Infinity.
