The Pokemon company just dropped a new trailer for Pokemon Sleep, which details some more of the upcoming mobile app's features and mechanics, and it was here that it was revealed that the app will even record while you sleep and save these recordings for you to play back the next morning if you so desire.

Along with the trailer below, The Pokemon company also dropped a press release on its official website, so we now know a lot more about the game than we did before. It had been previously revealed that Pokemon Sleep would be able to analyze your sleep and determine your 'Sleep Type', and that this would result in different Pokemon gathering around your Snorlax in the game, but now, we have a better idea of what this gameplay loop will look like.

By feeding these Pokemon Poke Biscuits they'll become your helper friends, and you can instruct them to gather berries and other ingredients, which you can then use to cook up meals for Snorlax. This will increase Snorlax's strength, which will result in more Pokemon (and rarer ones as well) gathering near the area. The longer and more consistently you sleep, the higher your Sleep Score will be, which multiples with Snorlax's strength to draw in even more Pokemon.

Each week, you move to a new area, find a new Snorlax, and start from scratch. However, in each new area, you'll be more likely to encounter new Pokemon. Similarly to the main game series, you'll have a Pokedex-like collection page, which encourages players to find every Pokemon and their different sleep styles.

Besides the game side of it, the app also tracks a lot of different sleep data, so it can simply be used as a means to better understand your sleep habits. It can record how long you slept every night, make graphs of your wake-up and fall-asleep times, detail how much you were tossing and turning, and even tell you how long it took for you to fall asleep.

As previously stated, the app will also record you if you're a noisy sleeper. If you sleep talk, or make any other noises while you sleep, the app will save these recordings and make them available for you to hear when you wake up. The question of how the app tracks your sleep so well leads to another interesting tidbit.

You're meant to leave your phone on your bed with its screen on all night while you sleep, or it won't work. You're, of course, encouraged to keep the phone plugged in, as, otherwise, it would undoubtedly be quite strenuous on your phone battery.

Pokemon Sleep releases sometime this Summer, though it still doesn't have a specific release date.
