Strangely, someone will emerge to challenge Rudeus to a duel, stirring the intrigue.

What Happened Previously On Mushoku Tensei?
As Sylphie adjusts to school life alongside Rudeus, old feelings resurface, leading her to realize her growing romantic sentiments for him. A month later, Julie, now under Zanoba's care, has advanced in magic thanks to Rudeus' teachings. Their incantation-free casting skills improve as well. However, an inquiry into the sculptures of Rujierd and Roxy unveils a bittersweet truth. Zanoba confesses to losing a duel against Linia and Pursena in his first year, resulting in the destruction of Rudeus' sculpture of Roxy.
Infuriated by the disrespect shown towards Roxy, Rudeus takes down Linia and Pursena in a confrontation. He confines them to his room, but their prolonged restraint leads to an unexpected outcome—they wet themselves, prompting Rudeus to clean up the mess. Seeking advice from Fitz, Rudeus searches for a fitting way to reprimand them without sowing resentment. Fitz devises a plan: a light-hearted prank involving the beastgirls donning amusing facial markings for a single day.
Departing with begrudging admiration for Rudeus, Linia and Pursena acknowledge his training under Ghislaine. Rudeus later shares a private moment with Fitz, who contemplates revealing her face by taking off her sunglasses but ultimately chooses not to.
