The latest hit from acclaimed developer Fromsoftware, Armored Core 6: Fires Of Rubicon, introduces a comprehensive decal customization system for the game's war mechs and battle robots. And the online world is currently awash with imaginative decal designs paying homage to nearly every popular mecha franchise (Among other wacky and cool designs we couldn't help but swoon over).

Of course, it's not at all surprising that we see a design that mimics the iconic Gundam design (thanks to @chronokatan). This blue and red hybrid decal seems to be very close to the original RX-78-2 Gundam (the first actual non-protoype Gundam mecha and the most famous across all Japanese media). Another iconic anime design is the Evangelion, courtesy of @BruunoAsking, with its very recognizable mix of green and purple decals.

Some fans are turning to American cartoons instead, as we see rjsbrowse sharing the yellow and blue Megas XLR design from the show of the same name, and @STsougkranis making a "discount Optimus Prime" from Transformers. Some are going extra hard into Western media territory, with thatguy01220 making an amazing Batman Beyond decal on Reddit, and moyu2099 literally making a Venom mecha that looks both as stunning and deadly as the comic book villain himself.

Needless to say, video games are not exempt from the decal craze. We have a decal inspired by Dark Souls' Solaire of Astora, and another as pink as Kirby, and even a Hello Kitty design, but the one that feels like a real blast from the past is the Pepsi Man design by YambagMcgee. This is definitely a design that you don't see everywhere, and probably not many people know that this game even existed at one point.

It's really a little bit of everything. Frieza from Dragon Ball. A design inspired by the cyberpunk movie Akira. Some Halo Arbiter stuff. Even Wall E and Samus designs are there. The only downside is that the Share ID that allows you to download the design into your game is not cross-platform. That means you won't be able to recreate many of the designs you see right away (and not every player actually shares their ID), but hopefully fans will come up with a decent and easy way to share IDs with each other soon.
