Lies of P has three different endings, but director Choi Ji-won has made clear that players should keep playing until the very end of the game.

We’re less than a month from the launch of the highly-anticipated upcoming Soulslike, Lies of P. Ahead of the launch, we had the opportunity to sit down with Choi at Gamescom and discuss various aspects of his upcoming game. When we came to the topic of the game's multiple endings, Choi told us that Lies of P has been designed with replayability in mind.

“One thing we planned in advance is that you wouldn’t want to just play it once. If you have only played it once, then it’s not complete. We really highly recommend you play it several times.”

As Lies of P is Pinnochio-inspired, it will have a ‘lying system’ throughout the game, the consequences of which will determine the ending. According to Choi, Lies of P will have three different endings.

“Basically there are three endings. But we really, really, really recommend playing the ending until the very, very, very end,” he said. The exact meaning of Choi’s cryptic teaser is unknown, but we’d hazard a guess and say that you can probably influence the ending of the game right up until the very end.

One of the other subjects we touched upon with Choi was the ever-contentious topic of difficulty settings in Soulslikes.

For those not familiar with the premise of Lies of P, it’s a steampunk Soulslike inspired by the classic literary tale Pinnochio. You play as a humanoid Pinnochio fighting his way across a city of biomechanical creatures.

While Lies of P was originally supposed to release in August, it received a brief delay to allow Neowiz to further refine the game. Lies of P is releasing on September 19 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
