The most awaited event of the year in Pokemon GO is right around the corner, and it's bigger and better than the previous iterations. Fans all across the world have enjoyed the regional installments of the GO Fest in the past few weeks, with players turning up in numbers to make the most of the event in Osaka, London, and New York City. Now, it's time for the global event to make its mark.
The Pokemon GO Fest has everything a fan could ask for, new Pokemon, shiny boosts, exciting rewards, special research tasks, and a lot more. It is one of those events that makes even the most inconsistent players jump back into the game, sheerly due to the fact of how happening the event is.
Pokemon GO Fest 2023: Global Start Time & Date
The 2023 Pokemon GO Fest global event will be starting on Saturday, August 26th at 10 AM local time, and players have until 6 PM local time to make the most of the event. Do note that this schedule follows on both Saturday and Sunday, albeit with a different set of events.
There are several other events that extend beyond August 26th too, such as the new shinies that are making their debut in the event. The likes of Goodra have highly been anticipated by the community, so a number of fans will be going shiny hunting this weekend. There are a number of event bonuses as well depending on whether you get the ticket or not.
Event Bonuses
- Lure Modules used during the event will last for one hour.
- Field Research tasks related to different Pokemon habitats will be available for all.
- Remote Raid Pass limit has been lifted between Saturday, August 26 at 12:00 a.m. to Sunday, August 27, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. local time
- There are some hidden bonuses that can be unlocked by taking snapshots during the event.
- New Field Research tasks will be available at Pokestops on Saturday, August 26, every hour from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time!

- The odds of catching shiny Pokemon will be boosted during the event.
- A total of six Special Trades can be made each day
- Level up your Elite Collector medal by completing habitat-themed Collection Challenges!
- Photo Discs at Gyms can be spun for free raid passes.

Is The Special Research Ticket Worth It?
For $14.99, players will be able to buy the Special Research ticket which gives them some added perks mentioned above for the Go Fest 2023. But is it really worth it? Well, if you are looking to catch Diancie, the ticket exclusive special research gives a guaranteed Diancie encounter. On top of that, the extended Mega Rayquaza research ensures that players can get more Meteorites.
For players whose sole focus is shiny hunting, the ticket makes it much easier, as the rates get boosted for ticket holders. As the case has been with most research tickets, if you will end up playing for both event days and a significant number of hours, it is definitely worth getting the ticket.
