Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 will be coming to an end this weekend, and although fans will be sad to say goodbye to the "wild" season, it does mean that Season 4 is now right around the corner.

Chapter 4 Season 4, which is officially titled 'Last Resort', promises to once again bring some big map changes, new weapons, skins, and plenty more to one of the world's biggest battle royale games, Fortnite. Sadly, it does mean that there will be an extended period of server downtime as developer Epic Games prepares for the release of the new season.

Epic has been teasing fans in the build-up to the new season, with the most recent tease practically confirming that TikToker Khaby Lame will be receiving his very own Fortnite skin at some point during Chapter 4 Season 4. The unexpected crossover was teased on both the official Fortnite Twitter account and Khaby Lame's social accounts.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4: When Will The New Update Release?

Epic Games has confirmed that server downtime for the Fortnite: Chapter 4 Season 4 update will begin on Friday, August 25th at 3AM ET / 7AM UTC / 8AM BST. During the server downtime, players will be prompted to download and install a new patch update for Chapter 4 Season 4.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4: When Will Servers Be Back Up?

Epic Games does not reveal the length of server downtime for new Fortnite updates, as the time may vary depending on the size of the update and any issues that may arise during the maintenance period. However, Fortnite servers usually come back online within 2 to 3 hours. Should this remain the same, Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 will likely begin at around 5AM ET / 9AM UTC / 10AM BST on Friday, August 25th.

However, as mentioned previously, downtime may be extended should any issues arise.
