One character that is an Origin Character is known only as The Dark Urge. This character is a mysterious and confusing Origin Character. Here's a guide to help you understand it.

What Is The Dark Urge?

Baldur's Gate 3 - The Dark Urge Character

The Dark Urge is the only Origin Character that is customizable and isn't one of your many companions in the game. The Origin of the character reads "You remember nothing but a path paved with blood. Unimaginable cruelty whispers to you from within. Can you escape it? Would you even want to?" The description itself is pretty ominous and isn't entirely helpful when deciding if this is something you want to go through with. While the default character is an alabaster Dragonborn, you can change the design of the character to look like any other character that you customized at the beginning.

So what does The Dark Urge do? It encourages you to annihilate anything and everything in your path. You won't always be able to control your character or stop them from doing some heinous and outright horrific acts. As the description suggests, you have lost your memories and cannot remember anything other than the voice in your head telling you to kill. The options in the game do change a little along with the dialogue. This helps cement the fact that sometimes The Dark Urge takes over, even in conversation. At times, you will even have to fight with yourself not to murder those closest to you.
