How To Find Secret Passages
Most secret passages scattered about Baldur's Gate require careful exploration and automatic skill checks. The majority of these checks involve a Perception test, which is connected to the Wisdom trait. Sometimes, however, players will use Survival or Religion.
These automatic skill checks occur whenever players close in on a secret or hidden object. The game will display the check on the left-hand side of the screen. Players will discover the secret passage or loot if the automatic check succeeds. If not, another character may attempt to pass the skill check instead.
Occasionally, however, players must keep an eye on their surroundings. For instance, in one ruin near Druid Grove, as pictured above, a hanging trap may be shot down with an arrow or spell, causing the rock to crash to the ground and open an underground passage. It's not immediately apparent unless the player pays attention and remains inquisitive.
What Type Of Secrets Are Hidden
The world is rife with adventure and secrets for players to uncover. But it's not enough to wander the lands and hope to stumble upon something useful or interesting.
