An act is finished whenever the main quests within the region have been completed, sometimes with a massive fight to wrap things up in the current Act. With so much to see and do, many players will be wondering just how many acts there are.

How Many Acts Are There

There are a total of three acts, along with the Prologue. The Prologue is your escape from the Nautiloid and Mind Flayers, with Act 1 beginning once you reach the beach. It is possible to go through each Act quickly, as you only need to complete a few missions to progress. Many side quests are locked off to their respective Act, and moving to the next Act will close out much of the content from the previous Act, so it's best to complete side content as you go. There isn't a clear display whenever you begin a new Act, but each Act has a unique feel in a new area that lets players know which Act they are in by seeing where they are at in the game.
