Status effects come in both good and bad forms. Good status effects are almost always in the form of a buff. These buffs can make you more resistant to certain types of damage, have utility effects, extend the duration of other effects, and have you dealing out more damage or a combination of those previously listed. However, there are also negative effects.

What Is Flesh Rot

Baldur's Gate 3 Flesh Rot

Flesh Rot is one of the many diseases you can face in Baldur’s Gate 3. This disease will cause those who are affected to lose both health and stamina over time. This can result in them not only underperforming but put them inches closer to death so long as they have this condition.

You cannot just rest and be better, like in a lot of RPGs. This is a disease, and you will actively need to rid the character of it. Otherwise, they are not plagued by it for the duration of the game.

How To Remove Flesh Rot

Baldur's Gate 3 Lesser Restoration

There are plenty of ways you can remove this disease, but you will need one of the following classes to do so: Bard, Cleric, Druid, Paladin, or Ranger. The earliest spell that will be able to remove it will be Lesser Restoration. However, this is a second-level spell, and you may find yourself needing help in curing this disease before your character is a high enough level to cast it. Thankfully there is an option that can cure this right from the start of the game.

The Paladin will have Lay On Hands, a feature that can remove disease from their very first level. If you do not have a Paladin in your party composition, but you do have one of the others, make a save and make it your priority in leveling them up. You can use healing spells and health potions to fend off the disease until then.
