Baldur's Gate 3 is an epic, sprawling game that is loaded to the brim with options. Not simply options like your hair color or what weapon to equip, but seemingly hundreds, thousands, and even millions of options are laid plain before the player upon starting a new game. Many of these options are plot, story, or character based ones. Through every new playthrough, players can test the waters of each mission, interaction, and even try to see if the oxen say new things each day.

Speaking of new, one of the things that players will get used to when starting a new game is the "Get Help from Healer Nettie" quest, which is one of the earlier quests that players eventually get in their 'to-do' list. Keep reading to find out how to finish the quests and what options players have during the interaction.

Highlights

  • The "Get Help from Healer Nettie" quest is part of the larger "Find a Cure" quest, where players seek to eliminate the Mind Flayer tadpole in their brain.
  • Players can find Nettie the Healer in the Druid Grove after navigating through the area and interacting with various characters, ultimately leading to different outcomes depending on their choices.

Starting The Quest

Players only need to escape the Mind Flayers ship in order start "Get Help from Healer Nettie" which is located in Druid Grove. The quest is one part of the larger "Find a Cure" quest, where the player's avatar is seeking a way to eliminate the Mind Flayer tadpole in their brain. Despite their actions in the beginning of Act 1, once players speak to Aradin in front of the entrance to Emerald Grove, where the Teiflings guard the big door, they'll be told that a healer is nearby that might help their condition. After fighting the goblins that attack Aradin, head inside the door (just stand by it and wait for the Tieflings to open it) and keep going until the cut-scene with Aradin and Zevlor.

Finding Nettie

To find the Druid Nettie, head past where Aradin and Zevlor are arguing. Keep walking until you reach "The Hollow, "where you will turn right, just after the merchant. Continue past the cows and down the stairs until another cut-scene interrupts your progress. Here, the Druids won't let Tieflings pass, and one Druid will turn into a bear to chase the Tieflings away. After passing a skill check (or killing the Druids if you prefer), you'll enter "Sacred Pool" which is a spiritual area where the Druids are trying to complete some plot-driven ritual. Make a hard right turn and head towards the stone door with circular carvings in it. The cool-looking stone door stands in the sunlight, so you can't miss it.

Completing The Quest

Inside "Emerald Grove," players will have to make their choices around the cut-scene with Kagha and the child (no spoilers). After that, they are free to roam around the area and that's where they can find Nettie the Healer. She is a small halfling who is standing in the next stone room to where Kagha is found. She'll be tending a bluejay on the right side. Talk to her. After she learns about the tadpole, follow Nettie into the "Enclave Library" but make sure you close the door behind you (or, if you fight Nettie, the rest of the Druids will attack)

Possible Outcomes With Nettie

At first, Nettie will offer you a cure, though intuitive players might guess that this is a lie. If you let Nettie take your arm right away, she will poison you, and you'll have to attack her to retrieve the antidote. Nettie will give you some Wyvern Poison if you talk your way out of fighting or her poisoning you, just as long as you promise to off your character if you should start turning into a Mind Flayer. If you avoid her wrath, Nettie will progress the questline and give you information about the Druid Halsin, who she says is the only one that can cure you of the tadpole.

Finish the quest by ending the conversation, or killing Nettie and applying the antidote if needed. If you're full evil, you can fight the entire Druid crew and also finish the quest by wiping everyone out.
