If you are looking to use Splint Mould to craft an item, it can be a little tricky to track down. The game doesn't do a great job of telling you where you need to go to find the Mould, and so finding it can be pretty annoying. Fortunately, it only has one place that it will spawn, and when you know where it is, this whole process becomes a lot easier.

Baldur's Gate - Splint Mould In-Game

In order to track down the Splint Mould, head to the Ancient Forge Waypoint in the bottom part of the Grymforge area. From here, head northeast and up the stairs until you come across a body. The body will be laying on a small ledge, next to a giant cog. The ledge is looking over the lava-filled room beneath it.

If you are having trouble finding it, you can use the Alt button to highlight all items on-screen that you can interact with. Press the button and scan the area until you can see the Splint Mould sitting on the ground. Further, the exact coordinates of the Splint Mould are X: -597 Y: 309.

With the Splint Mould in-hand, you can now head back to the Adamantine Forge and use it to craft the Adamantine Splint Armour, but don't forget that you will need to collect some Mithril Ore as well to craft the armor. You can mine the Mithral Ore from one of the two Mithral Ore veins in the area.

The Adamantine Splint Armour is a pretty solid set of armor that will reduce all incoming damage by 2, while also causing enemies that land a hit on you to be Reeling for three turns after. It will also stop any character wearing it from being critically hit.

If you are looking to get ahold of the other Moulds in the game that you can use with the Adamantine Forge, then you can track down the other five varieties that are also scattered around the Grymforge area. These Moulds are:

  • Longsword Mould
  • Mace Mould
  • Scale Mail Mould
  • Scimitar Mould
  • Shield Mould
