How To Find The Pixie Dolly Dolly Dolly

Baldur's Gate 3 - Dolly Dolly Dolly

You will find Dolly Dolly Dolly while you are adventuring in the Shadow-Cursed Lands during Act 2. In this region, you must have a light at all times in order to not die from the Shadow Curse that is upon the land. However, there are some places where even the light cannot penetrate the darkness. This means that you will have to find another way around if you want to stop the Absolute and their cultists from taking over Baldur's Gate. While figuring out your next move, the Harpers will tell you of someone working with the cultists who carries a Moon Lantern. They learned that the Moon Lantern is what stops the cultists from being hurt by the Shadow Curse. Once you kill the cultists and take the Moon Lantern, a small voice will beg for your help. There, you will meet Dolly Dolly Dolly, the unfortunately unlucky Pixie trapped in the lantern.

What Does Freeing Dolly Dolly Dolly Do?

You may be worried about freeing Dolly Dolly Dolly, after all, it seems like this could be your only opportunity to sneak into Moonrise Towers and stop the cultists. However, Dolly Dolly Dolly tells you that she will give you something you want in return for letting her go. If you let Dolly Dolly Dolly go free, she will give you an item called the "Filigreed Feywild Bell." The item's description reads "This ornately decorated bell, tarnished with age, rings with a mischievous giggle, not unlike its pixie enchanter." Anytime you ring the bell, Dolly Dolly Dolly will appear and speak to you, no matter where you are. She will then grant you the ability to go through the darkest parts of the Shadow Curse, meaning you get the same effect as the Moon Lantern without having to hold an item. This effect does carry over to any party members you have. However, you will obtain a Broken Moon Lantern that cannot be fixed if you free her. (Though this isn't a bad thing and doesn't matter.)

What Does Leaving Dolly Dolly Dolly Do?

Baldur's Gate 3 - Dolly Dolly Dolly Moon Lantern

Leaving Dolly Dolly Dolly in the Moon Lantern doesn't necessarily have any negative consequences. While you are walking around the Shadow-Cursed Lands you will have to have the Moon Lantern out. This will remind you of the horrors that Dolly Dolly Dolly is facing within the Moon Lantern. However, you will still be able to progress through the story and continue on to the next part of the game. This Moon Lantern can be used as a weapon if needed.

Which Should You Choose?

Whichever choice you make, it is the right one. You'll want to release her if you're playing a good character. However, leaving her in the Moon Lantern fits well with an evil playthrough of the game. At the end of the day, it is your choice to make; neither option will keep you from progressing.
