Updated On August 23, 2023 By Joshua Leeds: Baldur's Gate 3 has many different areas to explore that give powerful items for those willing to venture off the beaten path. The Mason's Guild is the location of the Helmet Of Arcane Acuity, and this article has been updated to provide additional information on this powerful gear piece.

Entering The Mason's Guild

The Ornate Door In The Back Of The Mason's Guild

Entering the Mason's Guild is fairly straightforward, but the building won't have much to see. There are random items and tools you'd expect to find, along with a Chiseler's kit, hammer, broom, and a few other items not worthy of note. Head behind the large piece of stone to the left to find a trapdoor. Go through this trapdoor to enter the underground area, which is the real area worth exploring. It's also important to note that the damaging shadows are not present down here, and you'll be able to move freely without needing to produce light for safety.

Where To Find The Helmet Or Arcane Acuity

The Keyholed Herald After Being Seen

Go past the elevator and into the halls along the back end of the cave. You'll need to pass a perception check along the back wall to reveal the Keyholed Herald, which will need to be picked to open up the secret path. Down the path to the left will be a chest that should be ignored. It is trapped and empty, not being worth the time and effort to disarm.

Down the path will be the large room with the raised sections around a central table. Position your party and prepare for a fight, as four regular Wraiths will spawn along with a much stronger one. These enemies can teleport using the shadows, so keep your party close together as weaker members can be teleported to at any time. Radiant damage is very effective against these enemies and will make many Cleric and Paladin spells very effective at dealing with these shadows.

The Button To The Secret Room After Beeing Seen

At the back of this room will be another trapped chest with a Helmet Of Arcane Acuity within that gives Arcane Acuity for two turns after dealing damage with a weapon. After getting this helmet, head to the upper left side of the room. You'll need to pass a perception check to reveal a button along the middle section of the wall. Pressing this button will reveal a small hidden room with two chests. Neither chest is trapped, with one containing multiple magic items and the other containing powerful spell scrolls.
