Initially encountered in the Caer Norvent Stronghold early in Final Fantasy 16, Chirada and Suprana serve as Benedikta's primary lackeys or harpy minions. Their primary objective is to delay Clive and Cid before the actual boss battle against Benedikta. One could also consider them Benedikta's alter egos, as they display certain techniques and abilities that are identical to her fused-Gardua form moveset. In other words, Chirada and Suprana effectively serve as a tutorial fight to familiarize players with Bendekita's true abilities.

You had encountered Chirada before, on the plains of Orabelle Downs, and witnessed its formidable melee skills. This experience will come in handy when you face Chirada again. The challenge, however, lies in dealing with its sister, Suprana, who focuses more on long-ranged attacks. Furthermore, similar to the second phase of Ornstein and Smough's boss battle in Dark Souls, if you kill either Chirada or Suprana, the surviving sibling will inherit the other's abilities and become even more formidable. It is, therefore, crucial to be careful and make strategic decisions about who to target and when to take them down.

Before You Fight Chirada And Suprana

Suppose you're already familiar with Caer Norvent from the demo experience. In that case, you should know that this area has more doors, secrets, and enemies in the full version, so it pays to look for items and grind some ability points before meeting Garuda and Suprana. The most important item here is the Favor of Fire, which can be found in a chest on the stairs leading up to Chirada and Suprana's room. This accessory increases the damage of Eikon's Scarlet Cyclone technique by 8%, which will come in handy during the boss battle.

Chirada And Suprana's Movesets

Chirada

  • Characteristics: Chirada has a distinct purple color and an array of melee techniques that it can use through its rapier-like hands. Suprana also has these hands, but it doesn't utilize them until Chirada dies.
  • Arc Slash: Chirada has the ability to execute a downward slash using its left hand, albeit with a smaller arc motion compared to its right hand, which it uses to perform a larger arc slash with an upward motion. Chirada can only perform powerful arc slashes with its left hand when preceded by a full body spin, as this allows Chirada to deliver a powerful strike with greater centrifugal force than his other attacks.
  • Arc Kick: Chirada performs a downward kick with its legs, which have some steel-like feathers attached to them. It can also use its legs to perform normal and weak kicks from time to time to interrupt your attacks.
  • Circular Arc Slash: Chirada uses both its arms and legs to form a wide circular motion like a ballet dancer. There's a notable pause in Chirada's movement before the Circular Arc Slash is executed.
  • Arc Dash: Chirada flies toward you in a graceful dash that can cover a wide area in front of it before leaping upward like an airplane taking off.

Suprana

  • Characteristics: Suprana has a distinct green color and the same bodily constitution as Chirada, but it prefers to focus on keeping its distance and hitting you from afar.
  • Arc Canon: Suprana's version of Vegeta's Big Bang Attack in Dragon Ball. Basically, a wind ball that it fires in a straight line made up of a luminous green light path that serves as a visual warning for you to avoid the incoming wind ball.
  • Arc Field: Suprana will shoot four wind balls at the same time from one side of the field, not from within its own hand. All wind balls will follow the same luminous path, with gaps between each path so you can easily avoid them.
  • Arc Tomb: Suprana will shoot three wind pillars from beneath the ground you are standing on, similar to Midnight Raven's Raiton.
  • Perfect Storm: A combination technique where Chirada and Suprana would charge up and then start using their Arc Dash and Arc Tomb multiple consecutive times in unison, giving you little room to escape.

Inheritance

It doesn't matter if you kill Chirada and Suprana first, as the other one will inherit the traits of the other and strengthen them. The Suprana/Chirada fusion will start to get aggressive with its slashes, using left and right slashes one after the other and even simultaneous two-handed slashes at the same time. It will also shoot wind-like blades from its legs (a technique Benedikta uses a lot). In addition, it will use an advanced form of Arc Field, where it will fire 8 Wind Balls from two sides of the battlefield at once while creating a chess-like board of luminous rays that are really hard to evade or escape from.

How To Defeat Chirada And Suprana

Chirada and Suprana each have their own separate health bars. But you shouldn't be choosing the easiest one to defeat, and instead focus on lowering each one's health bar to a critical level while avoiding killing them completely. Then you can slay both at once. If you do that, you won't even have to deal with their problematic merged form.

When Perfect Storm happens, it's better to focus on Suprana while dodging from time to time to avoid Chirada's Arc Dash since there's basically no point in chasing Chirada around while it's using Arc Dash exclusively and constantly.

Suprana is very passive and will avoid you most of the time, so instead, you will have your hands full with Chirada and its aggressive close-combat maneuvers. Chirada's most annoying move is Arc Dash because it is hard to find a space to dodge it. So, you have to remember to use Phoenix Shift to dash out of Chirada's sight after each successful combo. That way, you would have a space to evade in case it decides to retaliate with an Arc Dash or use multiple Arc Dashes in Perfect Storm.

The Rewards for defeating Chirada And Suprana are 30 Experience Points, 45 Ability Points, 1200 Gil, two Clouded Eyes, 35 Sharp Fangs, and 30 Magicked Ash.
