Final Fantasy 16 has players only take control of Clive throughout the majority of the game. With the sole focus on a single character, players are given a lot of room to customize what gear he has equipped and which abilities to use while in combat.

Trained as a Shield Of Rosaria, Clive fights with a one-handed sword, with many being available throughout the game to find, craft, and upgrade. Your sword directly affects the amount of damage you do and how easily you can stagger your opponent. The Invictus is the sword Clive wields on the cover of the game, making it a high-value item for players wanting to match that iconic look.

How To Get Invictus

Eastpool's Location On The Map

Invictus is unmissable, as it is given to Clive on his way back to Phoenix Gate through the main story. After Clive and Jill decide to return to Phoenix Gate to find answers, they will pass through the town of Eastpool. Here, they will be recognized by its residents, including Lady Hanna, wife of Rodney Murdoch. Hanna will offer Clive and Jill a place to stay, later giving Clive gear from his father.

The sword of this new gear is Invictus, along with a powerful purple sash and vambrace. This will also provide Clive with a new outfit, changing his appearance from a soldier in the Imperial Army to a Shield of Rosaria. This gear will all be automatically equipped after the cutscene ends, making the sword impossible to miss.

Invictus Stats

Invictus In Menu Showing Stats

Invictus comes with 165 damage and stagger, making it the best sword you can get at this point in the game. While it does have a high starting damage stat, it is a rare purple item, meaning it cannot be upgraded. Purple items such as this are powerful but cannot be strengthened beyond how they are found. Thanks to Invictus' stats, it will at least be a while before you find another better sword.
