During your adventure in Final Fantasy 16, there will be many items and materials that you will find to use later on. The downfall is that in the beginning, Clive will be limited in how much he can carry in his inventory.

Luckily, you came across this guide which will show two ways to increase the amount Clive can carry. Many aspects of the game can be upgraded, such as limit breaks, weapons, and even your inventory. This will definitely help you later in the game during the more difficult fights as you'll need to have more healing potions on hand.

Increasing Inventory

The Final Fantasy 16 character is standing with Owain the engineer after completing a sidequest.

In the beginning of the game, the amount Clive, also referred to as Wyvern, can carry isn't the worst. However, as you progress through the game, you will be longing for more healing potions, especially as the bosses become more difficult to fight. Technically there will be two ways to increase the amount you can carry. These two methods involve specific items, the Expanded Potion Satchel and the Treated Potion Satchel. To acquire these items, you will need to complete certain side quests.

For the Treated Potion Satchel, you must complete the Weird Science side quest which you can do while you're doing Letting Off Steam 3. Letting Off Steam 3 will be the 47th main quest you will encounter. To complete this side quest, you have to find the Bomb King as well as fight and defeat it. To find the Bomb King on the map, go Northeast of the Hideaway.

You will ultimately be going to the Crock which will be south of The Dragon's Aery where you will be fast traveling to. After entering a temple, you will find a blackened pumpkin looking head. Once you get close to it, it will be engulfed in flames and activate. Owain the Engineer will reward you with a Black Hood as well as a Treated Potion Satchel if you bring the ashes of the creature back to him.

Expanded Potion Satchel

The Final Fantasy 16 character found a Spherical Echo for the Even Weirder Science quest.

Assuming you now have the Treated Potion Satchel, your inventory will be increased even more by obtaining the Expanded Potion Satchel. To get this, you will have to do the Even Weirder Science side quest while you're completing Across the Narrow. This is a fairly quick main quest lasting a minute or so. In this side quest, Clive needs to find three Spherical Echoes in three separate locations.

  • 1st Spherical Echo: Fast travel to the Krozjit Echo then start traveling southeast.
  • 2nd Spherical Echo: Travel to Hawk's Cry Cliff then continue to Shallop Rock and make a left.
  • 3rd Spherical Echo: Go to the fast travel in Northreach then go southwest to the deadend.

This quest will be completed upon speaking to Owain once again. For this mission you will not only receive the Expanded Potion Satchel but also a Goblin Coin. This Expanded Potion Satchel will make a huge difference in the space you'll have in your inventory.
