Hiroshi Takai's Estimate

FF16 Clive City

Director Hiroshi Takai spoke to Famitsu, which in turn was reported on by Game Rant. The director of the game estimates that players who stick close to the main story will spend about thirty-five hours playing the game. That's a pretty good amount of time for a single player, cinematic experience like this one. He also notes that players who veer off the beaten path may find themselves playing for closer to seventy hours. No matter how you slice it, there's a lot of game in Final Fantasy 16.

My Personal Experience

FF16 Ifrit

I reviewed the game for Dualshockers and stuck very closely to the main story. While I did occasionally test boundaries and take on one or two side quests, I ended the game playing close to 45 hours. I wouldn't say that I spent much time sitting around or taking in the world around me. I can only imagin that Takai's estimate of seventy hours is a good one if you're looking to experience everything the game has to offer. That doesn't even get into the things you may want to unlock in New Game Plus.
