With the amount of easter eggs you can stumble across in a playthrough, you may be wondering which ones are the best. While all the easter eggs in the game are amazing and show the love the developers put into the game, some easter eggs were more exciting than others. Here are the best ones.

10 Cid's Many Iterations In The Series

Final Fantasy 16 CID

As many fans already know, Cid is one of the many reoccurring characters in the franchise. Whether an air pilot, a scholar, or a Dominant, Cid has been showing up in Final Fantasy games since the second game in the franchise. Usually, this character is always a fan favorite.

He is also usually accompanied by his daughter, Mid, and Final Fantasy 16 is no different. Later on in the game, you can meet Mid. Funnily enough, she is trying to fix up an airship, something Cid is known for throughout the series.

9 You Can Pet The Dog

Clive and Torgal Final Fantasy 16

One funny meme among gamers is if you can pet the dog or not in games. There are whole YouTube channels, Subreddits, and discussion boards dedicated to discussing if certain in-game dogs are able to be petted by the main character.

Thankfully, Final Fantasy 16 has decided to jump on the bandwagon. Clive's trusty dog Torgal is one of the best characters in the game. If you approach him and press X, you can pet him. This unlocks the Trophy "You Can Pet The Dog."

8 Music From Other Games

While you are running around the world of Valisthea, you may find that some of the sounds and music seem oddly familiar. The music from other games in the series has been heard throughout the game. Whether you're battling or just walking around, you may come across this music.

The addition of music from other games in the series is a treat for players who have been there since the beginning. Those who love the series can reminisce on the games that this music comes from.

7 Weapons Known Throughout The Series

Final Fantasy 16 Braveheart

If you pre-ordered the game, you will obtain the Braveheart Sword. This is a sword that is seen throughout the series. In other games, it is a powerful weapon that is usually found later on in the game.

If you ordered the Collector's Edition, you can obtain the Blood Sword. This sword has been seen in almost every Final Fantasy game. It is known to be an extremely powerful weapon that can do a lot of damage.

6 8-Bit Characters

One very subtle easter egg can be seen in the Attributes tab in your inventory. It is located at the bottom right of the screen. Another time you can see it is when you save the game. Then you will see it right below the date and information.

5 Clive And Jill Moonlight Balcony Scene

Final Fantasy 16 Balcony Scene

During the time that Clive was younger, you can see a scene where he and Jill are standing on a balcony at night. This happens the night before Clive, Joshua, and their father leave for Phoenix Gate. Here, the two look similar to another Final Fantasy pair.

In Final Fantasy 8, the characters Squall and Quistis, have a very similar scene. The two of them also find themselves talking on a balcony late at night. To make the reference even more solid is the fact that Squall and Clive have similar outfits.

4 Clive's Ambrosia Whistle

Final Fantasy 16 Clive’s Whistle

One of the first easter eggs fans noticed within Final Fantasy 16 came during the beginning of the game, a part that was also present in the demo. Here, Clive is whistling for his Chocobo, Ambrosia.

This is significant because, as many returning fans quickly realized, this whistle is the exact whistle that Yuna uses in Final Fantasy 10. She is one of the playable characters in the game, and his whistle is iconic.

3 Vivi's Appearance In Eastpool

Final Fantasy 16 Vivi

While traveling around Eastpool, an area located in Rosaria in Valisthea, you may notice a familiar face. Throughout the town, you can see scarecrows that line the many fields surrounding the town. There are several of these you can find.

What makes these scarecrows so unique is that if you get a closer look at them, you'll notice that they are identical to Vivi, a Black Mage that is playable in Final Fantasy 9. He is a popular character among fans, and it was nice to see him get an appearance in the game.

2 The Spoony Bard

Final Fantasy 16 Spoony Bard

This easter egg is probably the funniest one in the game. "You Spoony Bard!" is a popular quote from Final Fantasy 4. It is so popular in fact that many people outside the Final Fantasy franchise know it. This Spoony Bard can be found in Cid's Hideout's mess hall near the cooks.

A playable character named Tellah is wanting to find his daughter who ran off to marry a man named Edward, someone whose father believes is a bard but is actually a prince. When Tellah sees his daughter wounded in an attack on Edward's home, he yells the iconic line at him.

1 The Dragoon's Pose

Final Fantasy 16 Dragoon Pose

The most well-known and talked about easter egg in Final Fantasy 16 is the pose that the Dragoon, the Knight of the Blinding Dawn, (middle) does right before he attacks Clive on the night of Phoenix Gate. This pose is one of the most iconic poses in the franchise.

What makes this pose so special is that it is the same pose Kain (left) does in Final Fantasy 4. Interestingly, the pose looks just like the number 4, symbolizing the game he was in. Similarly, another Dragoon by the name of Estinien (right) has the same pose in Final Fantasy 14.
