You will want to explore all of the creative customization options during your time in Diablo 4. This will help you stick out from the crowd. With a game that's all about crafting your character down to every little detail, it is only right to want to make every last thing just how you want it.
This desire to customize extends to Clans as well. That's why there are Banners you can create for your Clan. These small icons give you a little more personalization and individuality that you can use to distinguish yourself from everyone else. The only issue is that the game doesn't really do a great job of explaining how to create a Banner or what your options are for them.
How To Get Banners
In order to create and customize your Banner, you are going to have to start a Clan. This is a simple process and doesn't even require you to have anyone else join.
While playing, simply go to your Map screen, and then cycle over to the right to the Clan tab. If you are not a part of another Clan, this screen will give you two options: Join A Clan and Create A Clan. If you join an already-existing one, then you will not be able to customize the banner.
So go ahead and create your Clan. Choose the name, the Clan Tag, and some other options for it, such as setting the Clan to private and what type of Clan it is. Once you're finished, hit Create.
You will now be taken to the Clan management section of the menu with four different options at the top of your screen: Summary, Permissions, Heraldry, and Bans. To get working on your Banner, you will want to go to the Heraldry tab.
Here, you will see the preview of your Banner on the left side of the screen, and the many options to customize it on the right.
You can choose just about everything for the Banner, including the shape, the symbols that go on it, and the trim decorations. These options are contained in the Base and Symbols tab of this section. You can then go to the other tab in this section to choose the color of everything as well. There are a lot of options that you can use here, so take your time to find out what works best for you.
You can also just choose the Randomize All option shown at the bottom of the screen, which will just randomly choose an option for every category. But where is the fun in that?
And don't forget that you can enter into an Edit Mode that allows you to change the size of a symbol, as well as its angle.
Unfortunately, the game hasn't carried over the same Banner system from Diablo 3, which used Banners to teleport to specific players, communicate with others, and more. For now, the Banners in Diablo 4 seem to be relegated to just your own personal customization and creativity.
