The skill tree, specializations, and Paragon Board in Diablo 4 are expansive. This gives players ample choice to make their build feel their own, but not everyone wants to or can make their own build.

In these cases, a solid build guide that you know will scale into the late game is important. For this purpose, the Poison Flurry Rogue is ideal. Follow our suggestions on specialization, skill priority, aspects, and gear for a plug-and-play boss-shredding rogue.

Rogue Specializations

Diablo 4 Rogue Specialization Combo Points

Rogues have access to three different specializations: Inner Sight, Combo Points, and Preparation. These specializations impact the way your character deals damage and recoups Energy.

For this build, you'll want to run Combo Points in the Open World. Combo Points allows you to stack points with puncture, before expending them on Flurry for increased damage and attack speed. Since most of your build's damage relies on this Core Ability, any way you can find to boost it is ideal.

However, don't hesitate to switch to Inner Sight if you know a long, drawn-out single-target fight is coming (such as a World Boss). You may find the guaranteed ability to have unlimited energy provided by Inner Sight in long, drawn-out engagements indispensable. Luckily, specializations can be readily swapped back and forth, so there's no reason not to shift as the situation demands.

The only specialization you will want to avoid with this build is Preparation. This specialization is great for builds that rely on your ultimate being available as often as possible, but this one isn't one of those. If fact, the Ultimate Ability is the least important category in this build.

Best Aspects For Rogue

Diablo 4 Aspects Split Image

The most important aspect for the Poison Flurry Rogue is the Aspect of Encircling Blades. This aspect turns your one-directional Flurry skill into a 360-degree barrage of death. To get this aspect, you can complete the Forsaken Quarry Side Dungeon in Fractured Peaks. Due to this dungeon's proximity to low-level content, you can pick it up very early on, which can assist with leveling.

Other Aspects that can help fill out your build include:

  • Aspect of the Expectant
  • Accelerating Aspect
  • Rapid Aspect

Overall, any aspect that increases your Attack Speed, Critical strike, or Damage is a keeper. You might also consider Aspect of Might or Aspect of the Protector if you are struggling to stay alive. Because all of these aspects are located in the Codex of Power, you're free to imprint them as many times as you want.

Aspects in the Codex of Power are the lowest possible roll for that aspect, meaning that you may find a better version on dropped gear. If this happens, extract the aspect and save it until the end game. Aspects found on Legendary Items can only be Imprinted once.

Best Gear For Poison Rogues

From left to right: Condemnation, Grasp of Shadow, and Asheara's Khanjar rogue unique gear from diablo 4

Gear that increases your Attack Speed or provides ranks of Flurry is ideal for the Poison Flurry Rogue Build. This is because Flurry's damage scales off of attack speed more than any other statistic in the game.

Other Stats to look out for are:

  • Core Damage
  • Dexterity
  • Intelligence
  • Increased Poison Damage

As an important note, levels of Flurry typically drop on gloves, so take special care in sorting your arm wear!

Gems

When Socketing gems into your gear, prioritize the following:

Weapon

Emerald

Critical Strike Damage to Vulnerable Enemies

Armor

Ruby

Increased Maximum Health

Jewelry

Skull or Diamond

Increases Armor or Elemental Resistance

To save on inventory, you can discard looted gems after you have about eight of each of the above types at max level. You'll never need more than this, and gems are a dime a dozen it seems in Diablo 4.

Unique Items

Finally, as you scale deep into the late game, you'll start picking up new item types such as Unique and Ancestral Items. Each class has Unique Items with special benefits. These are more powerful than Legendary items, although they may not always fit your build. For the Poison Flurry Rogue, you'll make the most use of three Unique Items.

Asheara's Khanjar is a dagger that is perfect for this build. It gives stacking Attack Speed, Movement Speed, and Basic Skill Damage. Use it to wind up with Puncture and then pack on the pain with Flurry.

Condemnation is also a dagger. Luckily Rogues love to have multiple daggers. Equip this weapon alongside Asheara's Khanjar or alone to further augment your Combo Points specialization, and increase the damage of Core Skills like Flurry.

Grasp of Shadow is a set of gloves and a no-brainer for any Rogue build. It will increase your vulnerable damage, give you a free Shadow Clone, and add ranks to all Core Skills. Even if you've got a fantastic set of gloves on when you find these, you'll want to replace them immediately.
