Times are really tough in Diablo 4, as the appearance of yet another evil entity is causing death, famine, and an overall bleak outlook to persist through the citizens. Many of the guards of Kyovashad are feeling it as well, with their spirits dropping as the war against Lilith isn't going great so far.

So it is put upon you to help raise their spirits and help them find the inspiration to keep fighting in the quest called Raising Spirits. This quest is simple and easy to complete, but still rewarding in its own right.

How To Start Raising Spirits

Diablo 4 - Guard Boza In-Game

You can start this quest pretty much as soon as you reach Kyovashad after completing the game's prologue. You will come to the city with Lorath, and once he has gone on his way and the world opens up, you can find the quest-giver near the center of the town.

The quest-giver is a guard named Boza, who explains to you that she is concerned about the morale of the soldiers and guards in the city. She is wanting to cheer them up and raise their morale, but she is scared of coming across as soft to the ranks. Instead, she wants you to help her out and cheer them up for her.

How To Complete Raising Spirits

Diablo 4 - Cheer Option on Emote Wheel

In order to cheer up the guards, you will need to go to the training area and barracks for the city guards. On your map, a blue section will appear just northeast of where you can talk to Boza to get the quest.

There is a direct route to the barracks from Boza, and the entrance to the room will be on the western side of the building. You will see guards practicing combat on the other side of the wall to clue you in that you are in the right place.

All you need to do is walk into the room among the guards that are training and pull up your emote wheel. You can do this by pressing E on your keyboard if you're on mouse and keyboard, or by pressing up on the D-Pad if you're using a controller.

With the wheel pulled up, go to the left tab and select the Cheer option there. Your character will do the Cheer emote, and then you will be tasked with returning to Boza. Speak with her again, and she will thank you for your help and give you your rewards for completing the quest: 1,596 XP, 440 Gold, and an Herb Cache.
