The Aspect of Retaliation is quite a sought-after aspect for Diablo 4 Druids. It can greatly increase the damage of your core Skill, especially if you're running a build that maximizes Fortify.

But on top of knowing where to go to get it, it's very difficult to acquire, as you have to battle wave after wave of mobs, some of which have particularly challenging abilities. Therefore, it's good to know what these mobs do, so you can prep a gameplan against them.

Where To Find The Aspect of Retaliation

Diablo 4 Seaside Descent

The Aspect of Retaliation is acquired by completing the side dungeon called the Seaside Descent, which you can find in the Dry Steppes region, on the far western side of the map, as seen above. It's northeast of the Dry Steppes Fields of Hatred, and essentially right next to where it says 'Dry Steppes' on the map.

The Secluded Grotto & The Murky Depths

Diablo 4 Secluded Grotto

The first area of the Seaside Descent dungeon is the Secluded Grotto, but there isn't much to explain about this one. The objective is simple, destroy all enemies, so simply walk around the terrain in question, and find and kill every enemy you see. If a notice comes up that you've entered the Murky Depths, but you're still missing enemies, then walk back. Check the map as there's likely some area with enemies that you've yet to explore.

The objective of the Murky Depths is a bit more specific. You're meant to slay two Avaricious Captains. One of them, Leroy, is nothing too crazy. He'll shoot out several AoE damage circles at once, which are fairly easy to dodge if you've got an evade available. He can also, like many mobs around the game world, surround you in walls.

Bartholomew on the other hand can be a bit annoying for ranged builds. He has a permanent circle around him which blocks any ranged attacks from outside the circle, so you have to get up close and personal to deal damage. If you have a glass-cannon-type build, like with the Sorcerer, this will be quite annoying, as you won't have the space to avoid its hits. Do your best to stay at the edge of the circle to minimize damage taken. You can also save your cooldowns and pop them all at once when you enter the circle.

The Lost Hoard

Diablo 4 Corpse Pile

The final area of the Seaside Descent is the Lost Hoard. Here, you'll have to destroy three Corpse Piles. The moment you engage one of them, the Corpse Pile will begin shooting out poisonous pools and spawning enemies. Nothing too crazy here, but the Pile also periodically explodes in blood and deals a good amount of damage if you're too close to it.

It's difficult to predict when these explosions will happen, so simply do your best to keep your distance from it and attack from long range. If you're a pure short-range attacker, then only dive in for damage right after an explosion has occurred.
