There are a couple of forms of dungeons for you to explore in Diablo 4. The cellars are always a quick romp, typically consisting of one intense battle and a quick reward chest. Ruins on the other hand function more like a traditional dungeon. They’re much longer, ripe with challenge and lousy with rewards.

Out of all the ruins in Diablo 4, few are as bountiful as the Ruins of Eridu. Even if you aren’t after the Necromancer exclusive Sacrificial Aspect, there’s plenty of treasure to plunder regardless of which class you are. We’ll walk you through where to find the ruins, and what to expect once you are inside.

Where To Find The Ruins Of Eridu

Ruins Of Eridu map location

You may be eager to immediately set out for these ruins after starting your character. Before you set out, you’ll probably want to at least complete Act 1 and explore most of the Fractured Peaks region first. The Ruins Of Eridu are located in the Howezar region which can be incredibly deadly if you aren’t prepared and properly leveled, so we recommend you wait to tackle it until you are around level 40.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a waypoint close to these ruins unless you’ve already completed the Vyeresz stronghold nearby. If you haven’t cleared that stronghold and unlocked the Vyeresz waypoint, then you’re most likely going to want to navigate from Wejinhani, which is located south of Margrave. From there, set your compass to the south and don’t stop till you are near the edge of the map. You’ll know you’ve reached the ruins when you see the image above.

How To Complete The Ruins Of Eridu

Rogue vs Bloaters in Ruins of Eridu

There are a lot of powerful enemies inside the Ruins of Eridu, so if possible, we recommend tackling this one with a friend. If that is not possible, you can still complete it on your own without having to make any special builds. Just be prepared to face off against a lot of poison and toxic enemies.

As you are exploring the ruins, you will also be ambushed several times, and face off against some powerful elites, each equipped with three damage types. The rewards they drop are very bountiful though. Sometimes even the lesser elites drop 2 or 3 rare items at a time. You will almost certainly run out of inventory space and have to head back to town to sort through your spoils.

Spiritcaller of Flames boss

For how difficult the enemies are inside, the boss is fairly easy to beat. The Spiritcaller Of Flames is a summoner type, so you can expect them to summon a few enemies at a time throughout the battle. They’ll also summon elemental stakes that amplify their ranged attacks, so make sure you are prioritizing evasion, and you’ll be victorious in no time.
