Diablo 4 is filled with a lot of different Statuses. These Statuses normally apply some sort of effect, such as an enemy that is chilled suffering from a reduction in their movement speed. If you keep applying this status, the enemy will eventually become Frozen.

However, there are two Status Effects that are different from all the others. This is because, while other effects do something, these exceptions merely track the state of the enemies Life. These Status Effects are Healthy and Injured and play an important part of the game's combat.

What Is The Injured Status?

While a character’s Life is sitting above 80 percent, they will have the Healthy Status. Once it has dropped below this threshold, it will no longer be considered Healthy. Once their Life has dropped below 35 percent, they will acquire a Status called Injured. On its own, Injured doesn’t do anything. It just lets the game know that the character has the Status. Keep in mind, this is not just for enemies. Your characters can also receive this Status.

How Do You Make Use Of The Injured Status?

You will find various skills and gear that will specifically call out how they impact an Injured enermy. A weapon you find might state that it does increased damage against Injured Enemies. Another might say that it can instantly Execute an Injured Non-Elite as a result of a Lucky Hit.

Don't Forget About Aspects

There are two Aspects that also make use of the Injured status, these are the Eluding Aspect and Smiting Aspect. The first grants you unstoppable when you are injured, and the other grants you an increased critical strike chance against injured enemies.

Do All Classes Have Skills For The Injured Status?

No. Only two of the five classes make use of the Injured Status, but others can make use of the Healthy Status instead. The Barbarian can deal increased damage while they are Injured and while their enemies are Healthy. The Rogue can deal increased damage to enemies while they are both Healthy and Injured. This is great for when a rogue darts into a group of enemies and starts to deal massive damage.

The Druid can deal increased damage and gain Overpower while they remain Healthy. The Sorcerer makes use of the Healthy Status in the form of their Hydra having an additional head and Fire Skills dealing increased damage, which can be the cornerstone of some of their builds. The Necromancer sees all manner of bonuses depending on if they are Healthy and how long they have been Healthy.

Invigorating Strike additionally grants an additional percentage to Lucky Hit Chance. Hitting a Crowd Controlled or Injured enemy increases this bonus.

You deal increased damage to Healthy and Injured enemies.

Shadow Imbuement (Enhanced)

You have an increased Critical Strike Chance against Injured enemies infected by Shadow Imbuement.
