Playing as a Druid in Diablo 4 is awesome fun, but this class definitely has some challenges. More physical Druids have difficulty with ranged enemies, while casters are pretty soft. However, as with any Diablo game, there are plenty of ways to power up.

Once you reach Level 15, you'll unlock the Druid class quest. The Druid quest is "Spirits of the Lost Grove," found in the Priority Quests section. Druids must first clear the Stronghold of Túr Dúlra to unlock the quest.

Updated by Aaron Krull on July 31, 2023: The Druid class quest is more complicated than the average side quest in Diablo 4. We've revised this article to give you more information on defeating the bosses you'll face on the Spirits of the Lost Grove quest.

Conquer Túr Dúlra

Strongholds are locations in Sanctuary that must be cleansed of terrible evil forces. Túr Dúlra is temporarily occupied by Baelgemoth, Infernal Tormenter, and he knows how to pack a punch. Before facing him, you'll first need to free the spirits of four Druids spread out around the Stronghold.

Clear out the enemies around each Druid spirit as you find them, but don't talk to them yet. Each time you interact with one, an elite mini-boss will appear to challenge you. So be sure your health is full and your skills are cooled down first. Keep your potions upgraded too, since these elites are no joke.

Fighting Baelgemoth himself isn't too bad, but melee-focused builds may struggle. This boss himself is a powerful melee fighter, with a wicked fire breath attack. Baelgemoth can also teleport behind you for a surprise attack with his hammer. Save your dodge ability for these moments in particular, and consider using some gear with fire resistance.

Find Gathlen, The Spirit Lord

Once relative calm has returned to Túr Dúlra, you can truly begin the Spirits of the Lost Grove quest. Druid Ardreth can be found at the bottom tier of the Stronghold, in the grove of the Spirit Animals. This is where you'll spend Druidic Spirit Offerings on powerful Boons that can change your game.

Ardreth will direct you to the southeast in order to commune with the Spirit Lord. It's a fairly short run from Firebreak Manor. You can save time with Fast Travel. Once you fight through the poachers to reach the Spirit Lord's Altar, Gathlen will give you another task. You'll need to travel to Fainne, the Abandoned Grove, in order to free a physical aspect of the Spirit Lord himself.

Fainne is only a short run to the north from the Spirit Lord's Altar. Once you arrive, you'll need to deal with a Goatmen ambush led by Gorefeast. This Elite has two powerful special effects, so take him down first. After all the Goatmen are defeated, you can free the Spirit Lord from the effigy and return to Túr Dúlra.

Return To Túr Dúlra

Getting back is simple enough with Fast Travel, or you can just walk since Fainne is close. Once back, you'll have to go through the rigamarole of climbing back down to the lowest tier to see Ardreth. He'll direct you to place Gathlen's skull on Túr Dúlra's Altar, completing the quest.

Now that you've done the hard work, it's time to reap the outstanding rewards! Spirit Boons are powerful passive effects with a wide range of benefits. You can mix and match up to 5 altogether eventually, making these essential for Druids of any level or build. This is just one of the many ways you can take your Druid game to the next level in Diablo 4.
