You can even find items out in the world that will help these animal companions of yours become even more powerful and deal out some massive damage to enemies you come across. Such an item is the Aspect Of The Alpha Legendary Aspect, which you can find just about anywhere in the game - with a little bit of luck - and can help your Druid really become a force to be reckoned with.

Aspect Of The Alpha Legendary Aspect Uses

Aspect Of The Alpha Item Description

The Aspect Of The Alpha Legendary Aspect is an aspect that you can use to turn your wolf companions into werewolves, giving them not only a boost in size and intimidation but also in damage. With the Aspect Of The Alpha, your now-werewolf companions can deal 75-100% additional damage on top of their base damage, as well as spread Rabies to any enemies they hit.

Rabies is an incredibly useful status effect that you can apply to your enemies, and it is only available to the Druid class. When a werewolf bites an enemy, they will not only receive a base amount of damage immediately, but also be poisoned from the Rabies for six seconds. Further, the enemies that are poisoned with Rabies can spread it to other nearby enemies to create a chain reaction event.

It is best utilized with the Druid (obviously) and, specifically, will be best used with a Werewolf build. This build is all about building up your Werewolf form, so using an Aspect that can change the Wolf allies you have into a giant killing machine as well is a huge advantage to have. It can really make your Druid take that next step into utter dominance.

Find The Aspect Of The Alpha

Finding the Aspect Of The Alpha requires a bit of luck, as the only way to find it is to extract it from a Legendary item. This means you have to find a Legendary item to extract it from. In order to do this, you will have to sacrifice the item that it is in, but being able to take the aspect and use it to upgrade your companions is well worth the sacrifice.

Extract any Aspects you can from Legendary items that you are not using. This is a simple process and can be done by visiting an Occultist in any of the towns throughout the game. You can find them by going to the emblem on the map, which is three circles connected by lines forming an upside-down triangle.

It's an easy process once you approach the Occultist:

  1. Go to the Extract Aspect option in the menu.
  2. Choose the item you want to extract from your inventory.
  3. This will show the preview of which Aspect you will be extracting from it.
  4. Choose the Extract Aspect selection at the bottom of this menu.

It is important to note that extracting an Aspect is not a cheap option and will cost you a good chunk of gold. But gold will eventually become something you won't have to worry about as you progress further into the game. Plus, it's worth it for the Aspects that you can get.

The Aspect Of The Alpha can appear on any of the following types of items:

  • Amulets
  • Gloves
  • Offhand Item
  • Rings
  • One-Handed Weapons
  • Two-Handed Weapons

The recommended way to farm some Legendary items that could carry this aspect is to farm Dungeons, World Events, and World Bosses. All of these activities give you the best chance to get a Legendary item, and none of them are entirely too time-consuming. If you are looking for some specific events to focus on for farming, check out the following ones:

  • Kyovashad Cellar
  • Anica's Claim
  • Maugans' Works
  • Radiance Field Cemetery World Event

And remember that once you're able, you should increase your World Tier difficulty to at least World Tier III. This will give you access to Helltide Events. These events will spawn around the map and last for 60 minutes. It's recommended to join as soon as possible, and then stay the whole time. Farming the Aberrant Cinders that you get will allow you to open the Tortured Chests around the area, which have a good chance of giving you a Legendary item.

If you want to be even more efficient, you can search for the Tortured Gift of Mysteries chests in each Helltide Event. These chests cost 175 Aberrant Cinders, which makes them the most expensive ones to open during the event. However, they offer the best rewards and increase your odds of finding the aspect. There are a total of two chests for each event, and each one has a set spawn location for the events.

You can also trade with the Purveyor of Curiosities for Obols, and the best item to trade for are Offhand items, as these are the cheapest ones, running you only 40 Obols. They also will only come with an Offensive aspect that you can use.

Builds Using The Aspect Of The Alpha

The Aspect of the Alpha can only be used by the Druid class, which utilizes the Wolf companion summons. And as you can probably surmise, it is best served for any build that is utilizing the Wolf companions.

There are a handful of builds that can benefit from using the Aspect of the Alpha:

All of these builds will be aided greatly by using the Aspect of the Alpha, as it helps create even stronger Wolf companions for your Druid to use in its battles. But these are just a handful of builds that you can use with the Aspect of the Alpha, and if you are planning to focus on your Wolf companions for your Druid, this Aspect is one that you can't miss out on.
